Renaissance Fest AU where Kylo Ren is actually Ben solo who dresses up with his friends as The Knights of Ren who attend every year and perform..something..maybe something with fire and swords. Rey is also a performer but a comedian instead with her friends (Resistance), they act out funny plays and music n stuff.

My cousin Drew died unexpectedly only a few days ago, and I am heart-broken. I grew up with his two younger brothers as if they were my own. His parents have planned two services, one in the town where he was living at the time, and one at a later date in Chattanooga, TN, where he previously lived for a significant portion of his life. His family has not yet planned the details of the service in Chattanooga.

I currently live in WA, and I desperately want to be there for my family. Normally I would be able to afford the almost $400 plane ticket, but I just spent $1,500 on car repairs last month.

The plane ticket is from SEATAC to BNA. I can afford travel from BNA to Chattanooga, as well as food, and I should be able to stay with family for the couple of days I’ll be there.

I will update with details on the service as soon as I know more.

im not saying anything but really, on the front page, its all a/b/o fics and i think reylo fandom can do a lot better than this. there used to be really good fanfics with plot and great character dynamic but now its just a trash bin of poorly written a/b/o smut and i’m like…
tired of seeing it to be honest.
i understand that a big draw to this ship is power dynamics, since rey and kylo ren spend most of their time fighting each other – either physically or verbally – before coming together in the final moments of the second film, but that doesn’t mean that the entirity of their dynamics involves someone being submissive to the other.
the whole premise to reylo, and the characters of rey and ben solo, are that they’re equals, two halves of one coin. they represent the balance of the force. all this omegaverse does is just puts one above the other for tactless sexual gain that neither interesting or intriguing to read.
then there’s the whole point that the omegaverse itself is just a fetish of homosexual men by straight women. it literally was a kink meme prompt by someone who wanted a slash pairing mpreg fic. she wanted a weak man and a strong man to basically turn the weaker half into the relationship into his bitch boy that he impregnates. that’s it. the entire omegaverse is built on a bizarre, dubious consenting, dom/sub dynamic that exploits homosexuality. and as a queer person, i really take issue with it.
i don’t mind dark fics that explore dark subjects, i don’t mind tasteful power play that culminates into a healthy relationship, but this trend of omegaverse fics just to make rey some submissive ‘omega’ that needs to but ‘rutted’ and ‘impregnated’ by the ‘hyper masculine’ kylo ren is just … ugh. can we honestly do better than this?
i know this is an unpopular opinion and i’ll probably get hate for it, but i just want to see more writers writing reylo that actually has some substance, not a bunch of dubious consent kink porn that gives antis a reason to hate and harass us even more. it’s been three years, man, i don’t wanna give the more gas for the fire.

1. Let people write whatever they want however they want. “Gives antis a reason to hate and harass us”? You realise they do. That. Anyway??? Even before the ABO au caught on in the fandom?
2. In one of these fics you have screenshot, Rey is the alpha and Benlo the omega. So. 10/10 there. You assume everyone wants Rey submissive but didn’t bother to read your own receipts.
3. If you don’t like it write your own rather than try to shame the fandom for not catering to your personal preferences.

There are two important things to remember about fandom (among many, but two for our purposes here).
In the end, everything turns to smut.
And if you don’t like the content you’re seeing, it’s on you to create your own.

I don’t particularly like A/b/o either but I just use the filter to avoid them.

So, here’s a rundown of our situation:
I moved four years ago, down south for better job opportunities, and to be with my fiance. I left my wife up in Maine, with the idea that when I got a full time job, she would move to be with us.
I ended up in a full time job WITHOUT MEDICAL INSURANCE. This turned out to be the worst thing I could have ever done. The physical demand of the job aggravated an old birth defect that I’ve had three knee surgeries because. I ended up having to quit the job because I was no longer able to walk, or even stand, for any length of time without severe pain. My knees constantly spasm and buckle, and the scars I got from my multiple surgeries have created knots of scar tissue that ache, and swell. My back spasms constantly, and has given out multiple times.
I can no longer work, but because of this, my wife had to move down to be with us. She and my fiance now work full time, but we live in a one bedroom apartment. A one bedroom apartment that is only allowed to have two tenants. My wife is NOT on our lease, and we’re we found out, we would be evicted.
We have lived paycheck to paycheck, with my wife sneaking in and out of the apartment in the dead of night to go to a 3am job, for more than three years now.
We can’t do it anymore. The apartment complex has changed hands, and the new management is far stricter, and will now be doing apartment inspections, and requires guests to be registered at the office.
Our lease is up on September 14th of this year, and management has changed their renewal policy, meaning we *have* to give notice of renewal two months in advanced. Meaning we have to tell them by July 14th. Barely two weeks away. We can’t take back our notice. If we tell them we’re moving out, and we can’t save up the money, we’ll be homeless come the 14th.
We can’t afford to agree to renew, just to break the lease at a high cost later.
We can afford the rent of a two bedroom apartment where we can put my wife on the lease, and not have to worry about eviction, but the cost of moving in is a large lump sum.
We have cats, and each cat is a $350 pet deposit. They require First Month and Last Month’s rent, which is 2k all told. Security deposit is another $300. We are negotiating to avoid having to pay September’s rent on BOTH apartments, but there is a chance they will charge us for that, which would add another $850.
All told, we need a minimum of $3,000. Closer to $4,000 if we can’t get them to write off September’s rent on the one bedroom as well.
We have only been able to save up $1,000.
We currently make only $560 a week. $380 of that goes immediately to bills. We have 3 people to feed. In order to get to the 3k mark, we would have to save another $200 a week, which we simply don’t have. We’re living on mac and cheese and ramen as it is.
I have commissions open, and all my prices are cut IN HALF. ALL OF THEM. I don’t care what the commission is, it’s half of what I advertise. I’ll give a 10% discount if you send it as a donation instead.

You start sweating, and suddenly you feel catapulted in another reality where you are a Brazilian football fan watching the FIFA World Cup 2014 semifinal Brazil v Germany on the stands. Rey and Kylo Ren start acting friendly towards one another and every scene is a new nightmare. The Force is connecting them and Muller scores the first one. “You’re not alone” “Neither are you” and Klose and Kroos score three goals in four minutes. Rey ships herself to him? Khedira scores another. Throne room scene and Schurrle scores twice and makes it 7-0, but then Kyle is being Kyle again and Oscar makes it 7-1. You’re shaking. You’re David Luiz crying in front of the press. This is Trump’s America, you think, seething. You go back home and log into Tumblr dot com, almost smashing your keyboard. “Rian Johnson retire bitch.”

Six months into 2018 and Reylo is kinda mainstream and well-received by critics, but it’s not over yet. “JJ will retcon everything and make Kylo Ren and Rey switched at birth,” you say to your followers, now a little bit concerned. “Mark Hamill hates The Last Jedi,” you write. “Rian Johnson is a Nazi apologist.” “Daisy Ridley hates Adam Driv*r ugly ass.” It’s a conspiracy, you know it. An idea:
Kylo’s introduction scene for IX is him training with various droids and shit (no people, our boy is lonely). Some of the droids have holograms showing well known enemies to the First Order as what’s supposed to be a motivator. He slices through most of them and then swings to strike the next one but pauses moments before he touches it. It’s Rey (because she is like public enemy number 1 now that Kylo’s told everybody that she managed to kill Snoke, his guards, and best Kylo all at once). His saber drops to his side as he walks towards the hologram. His free hand lifts to touch her face, and he looks at her like he did in the elevator in TLJ. As his fingers touch the hologram, it disappears, his fingers close around nothing, and he’s left only with regret.
